Background and Early Initiatives
In 2021, NRD’s journey commenced as a grassroots volunteer initiative, born out of a deep desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families facing adversity in Somalia. Our early days were characterized by small-scale yet heartfelt efforts to provide iftar meals during the holy month of Ramadan and to organize Eid celebrations for those who were unable to afford food and festivities. These initiatives were driven by compassion and a commitment to alleviating the immediate challenges faced by the less fortunate.
