Our Mission Statement

WHY WE EXIST

Our Mission Statement

To empower vulnerable communities in Somalia through humanitarian assistance, skills training, and livelihood programs.

The mission of Najah Relief and Development Organization (NRDO) is rooted in a deep commitment to making a lasting and positive impact on the lives of vulnerable communities in Somalia. Our unwavering dedication lies in the core belief that empowerment is the key to resilience and self-reliance.

Our mission is clear: to empower the most marginalized and underserved populations in Somalia. We recognize the urgent need for humanitarian assistance in a region that has faced ongoing conflict, poverty, and climate-related crises. We understand that immediate relief is often just the beginning of a long journey toward sustainable change. Therefore, our mission goes beyond simply providing aid; it extends to equipping individuals and communities with the tools they need to rebuild their lives and secure a brighter future.

We firmly believe that empowerment takes various forms, and as such, our mission encompasses a holistic approach. First and foremost, we are committed to delivering essential humanitarian assistance, ensuring that vulnerable families have access to food, clean water, and basic supplies. But our mission doesn’t stop there. We go further by providing skills training in marketable areas such as carpentry, sewing, mechanics, beauty salon services, and more. We understand that these skills are the building blocks of self-sufficiency and economic independence, enabling individuals to provide for themselves and their families.

Moreover, our mission extends to supporting small business start-ups and micro-enterprise development. We recognize that fostering entrepreneurship and economic growth is fundamental to breaking the cycle of poverty. By offering assistance and guidance in setting up businesses, we empower individuals to take control of their financial destinies and contribute to the economic development of their communities.

Through our mission, we also aim to improve the infrastructure in the regions we serve. Whether it’s rehabilitating water wells, building health centers, or constructing essential community facilities, we understand that infrastructure is the backbone of any thriving community.

Above all, our mission is driven by a commitment to raising awareness on crucial issues related to health, sanitation, human rights, and peacebuilding. We believe that informed communities are better equipped to make choices that lead to positive change and sustainable development.
